Cannot open an excel attachment within Outlook 2010

Can open word and all other attachments within outlook 2010 but cannot open excel. I Have to save the excel file first then open.

Thanks everyone for answering. None of these solutions actially worked but I know that on different occasions any one of these solutions will work depending on circimstances.
We are just going to 'live with it' and save the file rather than trying to open it within the email.

Anither thing you may want to try, if you save an excel doc on your desktop, right-click as select 'Open with...' and reselect Excel (make sure the tick for 'always open with this program' is set) and try again.

We used to have issues with .RTF 'forgetting' association with Word....
