I am running WIndows Vista

I have several Windows shortcuts to documetns

When I right click on one, and hit delete, it deletes the shortcut AND the file it points to.

When I right click on the shortcut,  and hit Cut, it greys out the short cut, does not remove it, and does not delete the file

What I want to do is the delete the shortcut, but not the file, how can I do this?

Thanks
