I migrated a windows 2000 server to windows 2008r2.
Having trouble with putting in a second domain controller & dns.

Get this message

DNS server role is already installed on this server. However, the DNS server will not be configured because no existing domain controllers in this domain are authoritative DNS servers for the domain. Domain name resolution for this domain is provided by DNS servers outside the domain.

Also having trouble with window 7 machines, adding them to the domain.

Lookupns on the domain works great from an xp machine, but times out from a windows 7.

I have check the SOA records for the domain and they look fine to me.

This is my first time asking a question here , so please let me know how to proceed.
Thanks
jeffrey
