switch suggestion

I'm looking to purchase a new 24-port switch, pref gigabit switch.  I presently have 14 ports that are live and I believe that I'm experiencing issues because of the switch.  Can someone suggest a very good switch?  I don't do any vlans or anything fancy.  All machines are on Windows XP or 7 premium.

Well you can't go wrong with Cisco, and I've had good experiences using Netgear switches as well. I'd recommend them.

(P.S. What issues are you experiencing?)

ASKER

I'm having issues with Scannining and Printing.  When I send something to a network printer, we only have 1 in the office, it takes forever or does not even print.  I've made sure that all firmware/drivers/ etc. are up to date.  I've also tried this from PDF/word/excel/ and even notepad by simple typing in "test" as the dialogue, but it always takes the same amount of time.  We presently have a very old 10/100 switch and I was considering purchasing another switch, but also purchase one that does 1000 instead of 10/100.
