Dear All,

I have a Linksys WRT610N Router that I presume is Version 1 as it doesn't say Version2 just the model number WRT610N

I want to Telnet into the Modem to get specifics of the router and can't seem to get port 23 open. Under Applications, I've set a single port open for Telnet being 23 and the IP address of 192.168.1.100 that is the PC I've got directly connected to the router with the tick enabled.

I hit Save Settings and it says it has but, when I try to Putty into the unit it fails and it also says that the port isn't open in the dos command prompt with telnet 192.168.1.1:23

I've reset the router twice and Cold booted it, all with the same issue. I can ping it without issue.

Is there something I'm particularly leaving our trying to open a port. I've done planty of port forwarding with Belkin and Netgear routers, but this has stumped me.

Your Assistance would be greatly appreciated as I wish to install DDwrt on the router.

Cheers

Paul
