Here's an odd one:  XP computer, no wireless in building so everything works off ethernet.  So, client complaining that internet sometimes not accessible.  sure enough, I look and it says no cable plugged in.  So, we switch out the cable.  Works for a while, then no more.  Sometimes it comes back after a reboot, sometimes not.  So, I think, maybe it's the physical port.  So I install a USB ethernet connector.  Same issue.  I run full Malwarebytes Antimalware scan.  Comes up clean.  I boot into safe mode.  Seems to be working there, but it's hard to know if it works there all the time, as the symptoms are that the client may have the internet for hours.  Often she'll leave the office for a meeting, return and it's no longer working.  Sometimes take the cable in and out a few times makes it come back, most often though, it's a few reboots.  Also, sometimes it will not say the cable is unplugged and if I look at network connections, it shows that it is connected, but still not working! So, not hardware for sure, not a bad driver as it sometimes works,  not a virus, what the heck could it be? (Also, if I plug my laptop into the same ethernet, there is never an issue, it never goes offline, so it must be her computer)
