HP's website only has BIOS updates for Windows OS. However, if you know the manufacturer of your BIOS there is a chance you can find an update from the manufacturer that you could then update using an external floppy drive. Something to point out though, the BIOS update on this system seems to be pretty unstable with users unable to boot after updating it(found this through google search for DV9000 BIOS Update), and it doesn't appear a new update has been issued since.
