The user has a windows 7 pro laptop that has never left the site before. We have SBS 2003 running our vpn.

The user has taken the laptop home and now folder redirection does not happen smoothly. What happens is when the user logs in we get an error message saying it cannot connect to \\server\user_folders\user. Once we connect to the vpn and click on the desktop option located on the taksbar eventually the users desktop and other folders appear.

It seems to me taht once we establish a vpn connection then user data redirected to the server start to be download/pushed down to the client, is there a way to automated this so the user does not have to wait all this time.

1. I would like to have the computer run a batch file that checks to see is they are connected to the LAN at the office, if not then it will check to see if they are connected any network for internet access, if they are then the next connection to dial would be the vpn, once connected to the vpn, we need to map all the drives, and last but not least to pull down the redirected folders. ie: desktop and my documents.

Thanks for your help in advance.
