Our dropdown list aren't showing everything in Crystal reports XI.  I did the registry change for more rows and its not working on this one computer.

Is it working on all other computers?

Specifically what does the registry show now? There have been several registry hacks for this issue, so let us know which one(s) you have performed.

Agree.  My first instinct is that you either missed the computer with the registry change or for some reason it didn't take.

All other computers are working, I have no idea why this one is not.  It had been working before and just stopped displaying all the records, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple times with no luck.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Business Objects -> Suite 11 -> Crystal Reports -> DatabaseOptions -> LOV

MaxRowsetRecords = 100000

Then you can use SQLServer profiler and to check what report is sending to the database and you will be able to run it in SSMS and check the result.

As far as I know the default value in Crystal Reports for MaxRowset is big enough (something like 8000)  so it is not very likely to have issues with this value. You may have issues with default formats ( for example local date format set to DD/MM/YYYY instead of MM/DD/YYYY), user rights, firewall settings etc.

Are you using windows authentication ?
I would suggest adding MaxRowsetRecords to current user as well

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV

I know in previous versions you could type -1 for unlimited rows. you could give this a try too instead of a set number.

Well, friends it looks like this problem is happening on the 3 new computers we got.  They are all running windows 7 and crystal reports was working fine and stopped all around the same time.  My computer is running Windows 7 but I am not having any trouble.
no luck with the current user key added?

The current user key added had no effect.  Their computers are 64bit and mine is 32bit, would that have an effect?

What report viewer you use ? Did you try SQLProfiler ?

Author

Commented:
I am using Crystal reports XI just like them.  I did not try SQLProfiler because I have never used it and wouldn't know what I am looking for.

SQLProfiler is a "tracer". You will create a trace where you can set the server and the database and SQLprofiler will show any command send from any application which is executed in this database. Using SQLProfile you will be able to see what the report is sending to the database and check why the result is not as expected.
