I have a network with an SBS 2003 Server that is running as the DHCP/DNS server.  One of my client desktops running Windows XP is suddenly unable to access network resources.  No settings were changed on the client or server.  All other clients connect as they should.  When I try to access the network drive, it prompted me to enter a user name and password.  With this I get the error: "list of computers and users cannot be found".  I am able to ping the server and other networked devices and access the Internet, but I cannot access network drives, etc.

I have tried removing the computer from the domain and reconnecting using the connection wizard.  However, I still get the same error "list of computers and users cannot be found" when I try to rejoin the domain.  The client is set for DHCP with no other DNS servers listed.  Below is the ipconfig for the client and the server.

The only new thing I did with this computer (which I also did with other clients) is connect to it using a VPN to the server and then connecting with remote desktop to the client.  This worked well every time I did this until the issue described above started.
