Open programs are closed when connecting with Remote Desktop on Windows 7 computers
Hallo,
The problem is that when I connect with Remote Desktop via VPN from home to my company computer all programs that I left open when leaving the company are closed. It happens not all the time only every 2 to 3 times when connecting with remote desktop. It looks like that the userprofile is restarted because when logging in, all programs in the taskbar are starting. I have tried this on several Windows 7 computers in our company and all have the same problem when connecting with Remote Desktop.
Hopefully there is a solution for this.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Ron

Looks like your computer automatically logs off users after some time. That should be an option in Control Panel > Power Options > Advanced Power options

It was a wrong Terminal Service setting on the SBS2003 server. I changed in the Group Policy Management under Windows Vista Policy/Windows Components/Terminal Services/Sessions the Set Time Limit for Disconnected Sessions from Not Configured to Enable and End Disconnected Session to Never. Now the programs are not shutdown anymore when connecting with Remote Desktop to a Vista or Windows 7 computer.
