Start Menu Folder Redirection not working in Win 7
I have configured Folder Redirection for the Start Menu for Student Users.
In Windows XP this works fine, and users see the redirected start menu. However in Windows 7 the Start Menu is empty and there are no errors in the Event Viewer to say why.
Desktop redirection is working OK on both XP and Win 7, its just the Start menu Redirection which is not working on Windows 7.

By the way there some changes in group policy files in xp and 7. Which server do you use?

Adding authenticated users to the folder did not fix the problem.
It is a Win 2008 R2 server. That post describes the exact same problem I am having, but I could not find a solution of what needed to be changed, and what it needs to be changed to for this to work.
The config for this is inside User Config > Policies > Windows Settings > Folder Redirection > Start Menu.
Unless there is another setting I have set somewhere which could stop this from working on just Win 7, or the different Start Menu structure of Win 7 (which I do not know what this should be changed to) is why this is not working.

I found the solution. A rogue GPO setting.
can you check the security settings on the share.
See if "authenticated users" is there, if not try adding authenticated users and test.
