Sage ACT! 2006: Update Activities is dimmed under Tools, Outlook Activities

I am running Sage ACT! 2006 and Microsoft Outlook 2010 in a Windows XP environment.

I am attempting to integrate ACT with Outlook.  Page 57 of the ACT! Users Guide says to go to the Tools menu, click Outlook Activities, and then select Update Activities.

However, both options under Outlook Activities are dimmed.

I tried rebooting the computer to clear memory and then starting ACT! only (and not Outlook) but the entries are still dimmed/grayed.

How to do I activate or enable these menu options?

The version of office you are running is unsupported that's why it is greyed out. Act 2011 and 2012 are the only supported versions that work with Office 2010

What version of Office will work with ACT 2006?  I also have Office 2000 including Outlook 2000 on the same computer.  Does this mean I need to uninstall Office 2010 in order to get Office 2000 to work with ACT 2006?

Microsoft say that, while you can have multiple versions of Office, you can't have multiple versions of Outlook working on the same PC

I suspect that the only way to get it working would be to uninstall BOTH versions of Office AND ACT! ... then install Office 2000 (and updates) and finally ACT! 2006 (and updates)

Or, better ... upgrade to ACT! 2012

Upgrade to Act 2011 or newer to get Act/Outlook to work correctly

Thanks for those tips.  But we are switching over to Rocket Matter.  My problem arises in connection with my attempt to export the data from ACT to Rocket Matter.  Since ACT does not export data to a format compatible with Rocket Matter I need to synchronize it with Outlook first.  It would be pointless beyond this exercise to pay for an upgrade for ACT, and we just got the 2010 upgrade for Office.
