I have folder that has multiple folders inside of it. I am currently replicating this main folder only, thereby the folders inside the main folder are being replicated. These folders inside this main folders are personal employee shares that get shared to the employees computer.
Lately, the backup server is mounting as active instead of the primary even though the DFS server tells it not to. I don't know why this happens. Employees put data on this share and then days ย later can't find it becuase the backupserver dfs was mounted without their knowlege or interference. Why do you thinks this is happening and how can i enforce this?
I only want the primary fileserver mounted unless it becomes unavailable. Is the main replicated folder have too many folders within to deal with?
Thanks.

Seems to be DNS issue, could you remove a server from the domain name server list and then readding it in that list and see whether it resolve the issue.

What replication model are you using? You my have it setup that the replication is only going one way.
I.e. there is no Replication connection from the backup server to the main one.
I have many replication folders but generally have issues only this one.

when it the backup should never be primary. The picture I sent you says Fileserver3 active and backupserver not active. Sometimes they switch roles and they are not supposed to. FIleserver3 should always be active unless it crashes. Can this be explained?
I don't have round robin installed on my DNS DC.
