Sage 50 Professional - Automatic Delivery CHarge of £15

Hi,

I have a Sage Line 50 Professional system - Sales Order Processing

I want a delivery charge of £15 to be added to one of my customers orders  AUTOMATICALLY.
Another customer needs a delivery charge of £20 automatically for each order.

I do NOT want this charge to be dependent on the user remembering to add in.

Is this possible?

Thanks all !!

Hi

It is possible to put a global charge (say carriage) on all orders/invoices but it's not possible to change this per customer without some development work.
You can access the global charges in the Settings > Invoice & Order Defaults menu.

If you do want to look at the development route let me know and I can put you in touch with a Sage Developer

Seeing as Bruce is doing the hard sell I better get in there too :)
So just to doubly confirm then that my company can do this for you too - prob less that the £300 mark too

Thanks Gavin/Bruce,

To be hones it is not likely that I get software developed.

As a matter of interested,

Do you change the actual Sage source code or is the change effected via some other method?
Hard Sell!   lol

My recommendation is to do the workaround I suggested, which is FREE.

Thanks again gents,

This has all been very helpful.
Just before I close the call could I make one small request.

Would it be possible to see a chunk of Sage toolkit code.
(I am a sometime programmer and would like to see what the code looks like).

It does not really matter what the code actually does!
Hi

The SDK itself is a collection of ActiveX DLLs available only from Sage.
Around this you code using VB.NET (mainly) to achieve your goals.

So while there are examples I can send they will mean relatively little without the Sage data Objects (SDO) which are only available through Sage's development program.

hope this helps
