I have a two column spreadsheet.  Say col.A and col.B.  Col.A is the year and col.B is the bank account balance.  Is there a function to determine the year I become a millionaire?

Hello,

assuming that your bank balance will probably not be exactly one million dollars, but one day a bit less than a million and the next day a bit more than a million, you can use this formula to return the year in column A where column B shows the first amount greater than one million:

=INDEX(A:A,MATCH(1000000,B:B,1)+1)

If you expect the bank balance to be exactly one million, then use

=INDEX(A:A,MATCH(1000000,B:B,0))

cheers, teylyn
