Office 2010 on Terminal Server/ RemoteApp

I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 system that hosts Remote Access for users, they login to the remote app system happily but when they try to launch an Office 2010 program it fails to open, when you logon to the server as a user or administrator word and outlook state they need to open in safe mode but when you say yes the program fails to open.

It asks to repair but then states repair cannot be run on terminal server, word then fails to load. I have repaired Office from control panel and removed and reinstalled but to no avail. I have set the trust centre settings to not allow safe mode but the problem remains. I even followed the MS article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2189684 but the registry entries do not exist. I'm not getting very far so was hoping someone had come across this before and know how to fix it in a terminal server environment?
