iPhone 4s verifies Exchange but gets Cannot get Mail error

Hi all,

I have a client with SBS2003 fully patched with Exchange SP3, we have a mixture of iPhone 3s and 4s, when setting up for Exchange all verify the account but get error Cannot Get Mail, The connection to the server failed.

I have looked all over the net but nothing has worked, Active Sync is enabled.

Please check your IIS settings is as per my article and then run the test on the test site and report back any errors that my article doesn't cover:

I have gone through and all settings are correct, i have run the ActiveSync analizer and below are the results.


      ExRCA is testing Exchange ActiveSync.
       The Exchange ActiveSync test failed.
       
      Test Steps
       
      Attempting to resolve the host name mail.******.com in DNS.
       The host name resolved successfully.
       
      Additional Details
      Testing TCP port 443 on host mail.amigo.uk.com to ensure it's listening and open.
       The port was opened successfully.
      Testing the SSL certificate to make sure it's valid.
       The certificate passed all validation requirements.
       
      Test Steps
      Checking the IIS configuration for client certificate authentication.
       Client certificate authentication wasn't detected.
       
      Additional Details
      Testing HTTP Authentication Methods for URL https://mail.******.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/.
       The HTTP authentication methods are correct.
       
      Additional Details
      An ActiveSync session is being attempted with the server.
       Errors were encountered while testing the Exchange ActiveSync session.
       
      Test Steps
       
      Attempting to send the OPTIONS command to the server.
       The OPTIONS response was successfully received and is valid.
       
      Additional Details
      Attempting the FolderSync command on the Exchange ActiveSync session.
       The test of the FolderSync command failed.
       
      Additional Details
       An HTTP 403 forbidden response was received. The response appears to have come from Unknown. Body of the response: <body><h2>HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden</h2></body>

I have also download the iPhone ActiveSync and got the following error, "ActiveSync is NOT available.  (Activesync detected, but access denied. [HTTP 403: Disable for this user]

Okay - that suggests you need to follow KB817379 to create the Exchange-OMA virtual directory.
