Hello Experts.

I am developing an Android application by using Eclipse ADK and Android emulator on Ubuntu 11.04

Emulator is painfully slow. On top of this, Eclipse seems a clumsy tool.
Repeating tasks to isolate mistake in program are non-productive.

What is the best combination of hardware and software to develop and debug the application? Perhaps handset is better than tablet because hast more strict layout constrains?

FYI: which environment do I use:

Hi Bitlab,

In our developement environment  we are using  Eclipse( Helios) ADK and Android emulator on Windows 7 environment. I am not finding any complexity . But my machine configuration is bit high,
Instead of using simulator you can use  any one android device.....

Yes, my machine is not high.
Eclipse is good for refactoring and writing the code, but apparently not for change-one-char-and-rerun-task. In combination with slowly responded device - no good.
Anyone actually used android device for development?
