I want to sync the contents of two W2k8 file server directories that reside at different locations.  We don't have any networking linking the two locations except for a pptp vpn.     Thanks.

Is the VPN link created dynamically on demand?

WFS (Windows File System) is a poor performer over slow links and I'm assuming you want something scheduled.

The best technology for this on UNIX is rsync but I've never found a good quality Windows equivalent.

Tools like RoboCopy or SynchronizeIt or similar delta file comparison tools can be scheduled to do the job on the command line.
