Hi hpradhan08,

There are two ways you can change your password. 1 is by use of code and 2 by using management studio.

To use option one use the below code;

ALTER LOGIN [sa] WITH DEFAULT_DATABASE=[master]
GO
USE [master]
GO
ALTER LOGIN [sa] WITH PASSWORD=N'Younewpassword' MUST_CHANGE
GO

Open in new window

the above code will overwrite the current password. This will also help when you have forgotten the password.

you may as well use the below

ALTER LOGIN [sa] WITH PASSWORD = N'yourNewPassword' OLD_PASSWORD = 'yourOldPassword';
GO

Open in new window

Option two follow the link below

Hope this helps.
