Hi there,

Anyone had problems with receiving FAX's in the past on SBS 2011?
I've had a look around and tried changing the rings to answer after 2 rings as per a MS article but still encountering the problem more often then not. Sometimes it works fine!
But getting this on a couple of different setups now.

The FAX Card is internal PCI Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem. Tried changing Baud rates and such like but not getting anywhere it's still so inconsistent and gets failures at least 3 a day but 1 or 2 can make it through ok.

I've also tried re-running the SBS Fax config wizard several times.

Would appreicate any thoughts or solutions if anyone else has had this problem?

Many Thanks

It is unlilely to be the speed that you are talking to the modem, and more likely to be either the line quality or a problem with the modem.

Are you using the fax modem on a VoIP line ?

I would usually suggest Multitech for entry level fax modems.

no VoIP on the line I'm guessing it's got to be something to do with the Modem them anywhere to change the Driver to a standard? I have tried but it won't allow me to.

As long as its a real modem (rather than a winmodem) it's unlikely to be a driver issue.

I would suggest spending the money to get one of the Multitech fax modems in either the 14.4k or 33.6k variants

Hi just wondering if you resolved this? Did you try one of the Multitech fax modems as suggested or did you do something else?
