Greetings, I have an odd one here and have not been able to find anything exactly like this on the net. I have an exchange 2010 running on windows sbs 2011,  there is one user that when she sends an email, the email gets sent, but there is an empty email addressed to the same recipient that gets left in the mailbox.  No subject, no message, just the email address.

you can briefly see both messages in the outbox, then the real message get sent, and the ghost message stays behind.  I can open the ghost email and send it, and it will go to the recipient, but it will not go on it's own (and i don't want it to).

I have taken outlook off of cached mode and reinstalled outlook with no joy.  when a message is sent through OWA, there is no ghost message put in the outbox.

Please help.

Chris.

Have you checked for local rules?

Tried Outlook in safe mode to disable add-ins?

Re-installing outlook does not clear MAPI profiles, control panel -> Mail -> show profiles

and delete the profile....

It was a corrupt profile, there were no rules setup.  I created a new profile and it worked fine.
