Getting CDs out of my car CD player

My CD player isn't working - it thinks there are no CDs to play when I have CDs in there.

There are 6 CD slots, it thinks there are CDs in slots 2 and 3, but there aren't. If you press eject it tries to eject them but there is nothing there.

It doesn't think there are CDs in 1 and 4 but there are - if you press to eject them it makes a noise like the CD changer is moving, but no CD is ejected.

Do you think just disconnecting my battery would reset it and allow me to get the CDs out? Can you think of anything else to try ???

I've got a Saab 9-3 Linear 2005 btw.
