New storage groups Exchange 2007

Creating new storage groups in Exchange 2007.  I'm wondering if my Log path and my system path should be on different spindles?  Is the system path the same as where the database file resides?

Ideally you should seperate your DB and Log files onto different spindles. When creating a new storage group you will have the option to set both the location for the log files as well as the DB files.

If possible I would highly suggest seperating these.
