I'm looking for a complete but basic example of how you would do an update with jquery when a user clicks a check box without a page refresh. Assume the check box name is the field name in the table and the field rowID is the unique id in the a table called sometable.

Looking for a complete sound example.

Thanks in advance.

<form action="" method="post" name="form1">

<input name="field1" type="checkbox" value="" /> Checkbox1
<input name="field2" type="checkbox" value="" /> checkbox2
<input name="field3" type="checkbox" value="" /> checkbox3

<input name="rowID" type="hidden" value="1" />

</form>

@ansudhindra ,

what you have suggested is with CFMX7 when there was no inbuilt  functions available in CF

Now we have
ColdFusion.Ajax.submitForm , coldfusion.naviagte ,SerializeJSON ,DeserializeJSON.

No need to write lengthy line of codes  best to use the inbuilt functions available
