I need to write a program that is WPF compatible. I will be showing stock prices, OHLC bars, Candelsticks and line graphs of vartious indicators.

So far, I have looked at packages from amcharts and Telerik. Before I get too deep into this, I'd like to know whether there is a better package to be using.

Any suggestions woiuld be welcome.

have you looked at the charting that now comes with .NET 4.0... 4.5?
Here's a Visualisation Technical Reference
And you can get good info from the DataVisualisation Namespace page
Pretty good, and combined with LINQ (datacontexts if you plan to use databases), brilliant (considering the price).

Wow. That's excellent!  OK, while I have your attention, do you know where I could find some ready-made "hello world"-type applications showing how to use these charts? I'm sure I could figure it out, but I'm way better at playing follow-the-leader...

Never mind about the search for samples. I found them at http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/mschart/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=4418

Thanks again.

I wish I had time to learn all of what's out there. That, I guess, is why we have Expert's Exchange.

There are not many examples flying around on the web last time I checked, but do a google and enjoy!
PS. If you get stuck, this is a good place to ask about code suggestions, just make sure you have something!

Hey, Wait a minute! This charting stuff is great, but...IT DOES NOT WORK IN WPF !!!  My application MUST use WPF. This is not my choice, it is the framework I have to live in.

So, I found WPF Toolkit on Codeplex. But, seriously, it appears to have not been touched in two years. Either this is an exceptionally stable package or it's hopelessly out of date.

To be fair, I haven't downloaded it yet - still trying to get over the shock of the other chart controls not working in WPF.

Any suggestions?
