I know with ie fix which is for ie 6 not ie 7 or later it copied files from the i386 directory to the relevant places and re registered them. Although this issue appears to either be a case of down grading to IE 8 or running IE as administrator. There are some run me fixes on each of the above ms kb's so may help out ??

Gecko,

You did guide me in the right direction - issue was with the HP Driver itself. I have since updated it and the issue has been resolved. Many thanks!
