In Sharepoint, Change Document Library default view

In SharePoint, when I click on a document library, by default the columns for the files are:
Name, Modified, Modified By, Check In Comment, Check Out to, Version and Type.

How do I change the default view for all users so that other columns of my choice are shown by default? I am the administrator.

Go to "library settings" create a new view and tick the box to say that this is the default view
