Hi
I just want to check that I'm not missing something here. I have used SmartArt to create a new hierarchy option in a Powerpoint presentation. However I have found that I can only add an assistant in ONE of the layouts i.e. Organisation Chart. Does that mean that the Assistant option is not available in any other Hierarchy layout or is there a way around it?
Thanks.

Yeah, the assistant option is only available on the diagrams specifically labeled Org Chart.

I'd use the "convert to shapes" option (PPT 2010) or ungroup option (PPT 2007 SP1) to ungroup the diagram and add an assistant box as needed. Do this on a copy of the diagram so you still have the "smart" SmartArt diagram available -- in case you need to make changes you can do it quickly.

Oh, forgot to mention -- right-click the diagram to ungroup, then ungroup again to separate all the pieces.
