I got a problem with user having issue with Indesign cs 5.5 under snow leopard. The user minimize the Indesign window to check email or browse website and the indesign window came back in the middle of writing email or do another task.
Any ideas what causing this issue ?

I'll take a stab in the dark (since I don't use a Mac) and say that there's probably an auto-save going on somewhere.

Is the user having the same problem if he/she just uses Cmd + tab to move to the mail or web program?
The reason I ask is to see if the minimazation is the culprit. There is no reason to minimize windows or move them to get to another application. Just use Cmd + Tab.
I faintly remember InDesign doing this but as well some other programs. Usually it's in the case of some action being finished in the background, like downloads or saving in the background.
Although I have nothing on why ID is doing this I suspect this is because of some background action. InDesign is different from some of the other Adobe applications that it constantly saves in the background, kind of writes to a database and thus you never loose anything if the application crashes like you would in the case of Illustrator and Photoshop.
So my suggestion is: Get used to using Cmd + Tab. Only one click gets you to last used program, cmd+ tab also lets you tab between open applications and if you move your finger from the tab key to the Q key you can quit programs and H will hide.

I object. There are at least two relevant comments, neither of which the Asker responded to.

Hi Ericpete,
We are running 15 mac with the same image. I dont believe that is only related to auto saved options since they all used the same config and only 2 persons having this issue.
The issue has been assign to external mac specialist and still under investigation.

Then think about the problem reasonably.
1. Because they're all imaged the same, then the cause has to be something someone has done AFTER the installs. That points to user settings OR something added to the image by those two users (some other program added).
2. According to the information we have, it is ONLY InDesign that is affected.
I'll stipulate that I use CS4, and that it's the Windows version, as opposed to the Mac. I'll also stipulate that Windows does background things differently than does the Mac. But I've also done IT long enough to know that when users tell me they didn't do anything.. it means they did and don't want to admit it or they did and didn't realize it.
On the other hand, if they're all imaged the same... why not just re-image the two offending machines?
