to stop a read receipt

Hi

exchange 2007 on windows 2008
user client outlook 2010

UserA is sending a read receipt to UserB, every few minutes, lasting for who knows how long.
UserB set up a rule to remove it to deleted items and empty deleted items folder every day.
I tried  on userA's outllok enable the 'never send a read receipt', but did not work.

I can created a Hub rule to stop it using " from usera to userb drop it by subject"

does any one know why this is happening and is there a way to stop it using something else instead of applying a rule on HUB server?

thanks.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have you checked user A and B for viruses or malware?

Do either of these users have a secondary POP account running that might be causing this issue?

Try turning off cached Exchange (as this could be a corrupt OST issue) or recreating User A's account

good point, as long as the usera's PC off, no sending read receipt as more.

sure will be a local issue instead of a server side issue.

thanks.
