I want to write an application that reads PDF files, allows for highlighting and copying highlighted text from the PDF.

Is there a PDF class in .Net that would allow this?

Failing that, is there a control you can purchase that would give my app these abilities?

I'd highly recommend Aspose PDF - http://www.aspose.com/categories/.net-components/aspose.pdf-for-.net/default.aspx

We use it across the board. Admittedly we only use it for PDF generation, but as I understand it it should meet your requirements as well
