Hi All,

I am just looking into using the CRM Dynamics 4.0 service calendar as our Holiday calendar and we have been following your suggestions below and have a couple of questions regarding this.

I am wanting to now use the CRM service calendar as our main office calendar:
1.      We need to have the ability to disable non admin staff being able to open up annual leave calendar entries and having the ability to change dates. We need to be able to have these entries remain as fixed dates and only be modified by selected admin (HR)?
2.      Can we color code calendar entries i.e. holiday leave in green, sales appointments in blue etc?
3.      How would we go about using the CRM service calendar to coordinate room bookings?

Any advise or tips on this will be greatly appreciated.

Can I first check that you don't have or don't wish to use Exchange?

Managing calendar entries and room bookings is probably simpler via Outlook/Exchange. YOu can still get those calendar entries copied into CRM by tracking the appointments.

With regard to 1) are you using calendar appointments or service activities? I'm guessing the first, in which case access is managed by the activity line in security roles.

2) I've tried to do this and failed. I managed to get colours to change temporarily but they always reverted back to the default colours after a restart or other random event.

3) I would add the rooms as Facility/Equipment records, create a service activity called Room Booking and then schedule a service activity to book a room.

Thanks for your response, I will look into the exchange calendar option.
