Printing take a very long time when printing to a HP Laserjet 3030 printer from a Windows 2008 std R2 Terminal Server

One of our clients who is based in Cornwall are having an issue printing PDF documents.  They have 2 printers onsite and are accessing a Terminal Server based here in the BDC on a 2 meg connection.  One of the printers is a HP Colour Laserjet CP3525n and the other is a HP Laserjet 3030 Multi-purpose printer, fax and scanner etc.  When the users try to print a typical PDF document that amounts to about 2 or 3 meg to the 3030, the job spools to about 20 or so meg and it takes ages to print 1 page.  However when they print the same document to the CP3525n it prints without any issues and finishes the job in good time.  I just need to know why this is happening before we commit to purchasing them a replacement printer and finding we have the same problem.
