I want to monitor server temperature and was told snmp is the best way to do this.  I have Dell servers.  I've never set up snmp so I'd appreciate some detailed instructions on how to set it up and then configure it

Hi,

If you have Dell Servers, are you using Dell OpenManage Server Admin?  That can monitor everything for your Dell Server.. You can download it from the Dell website.
You can easily setup SNMP from here.
