IIS Web Deployment Tool Fails with 'Error, not enough space on the disk'

When trying to use a batch file with about ten commands to export ten different web sites to ten different ZIP packages from an IIS 6 machine the following error appears on some, but not all, of the sites during the export process:

Error: There is not enough space on the disk. Error count: 1

The commands used in the batch file are the basic msdeploy -verb:sync -source:metaKey=lm/w3svc/(sitenumber) -dest:package=D:\sitenumber.zip   - and there is over 40GB of free disk space on the D:\ drive.  And while some of the ten sites are likely larger than others, none should be larger than about 100 MB and it is strange that some sites export fine while others fail with this - perhaps misleading - error.

TIA for any help in resolving this ...

Okay, apparently there are a lot of temp files created during this process - and those are stored in the System Environment/Temp folder. So it is recommended to change this from the default system-drive location (if the system drive is low on disk space) and move them to another drive...
