Hello,

I have created a custom list that is associated with a content type.  One of the fields is specified as "Person or Group".  When I access the list, I'm able to see the field and find People by clicking on the address lookup.  The users with contributor access are unable to view the field correctly.  In the field it says, "The control is not available because you do not have the correct permissions."  I can't give them any higher permissions than contribute or they will be approving their own documents.

How can setup the contributor users  to access the "Person or Group" field properly without the error message above.  Please advise.

This is strange behaviour. Go to site settings and check who has permissions to "view members of this group"

Hi!
Is your field targeted to a specific group? What kind of authentication do you use?
