asked on

android and eclipse

I want to install android with eclipse as that is the reason I got eclipse.

http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html

I have installed android from the instructions but dont get the same screenshots.

I followed the instructions and I seem to have a problem

The AVD manager is blank from the screnshot attached.

DO I need to go back and install this again?

when I go to androind sdk manager in windows in eclipse I get the below output

did you try this:

Note: If you have trouble acquiring the plugin, try using "http" in the Location URL, instead of "https" (https is preferred for security reasons).

ok where is this http I need to change from https?

Here is a suggestion, has someone installed eclispse with androind on a windows 7 machine before?

Do my screenshots look OK?

Otherwise I believe I will spend further hours just fiddling with 'maybe solutions'. I am just trying to setup eclispse and java.
I installed eclipse with android but not on Windows 7 but on XP

The screen looks very similar, but I have everywhere one line which says uninstalled and then next line about the same item saying installed. I'll try to paste it here.
This is installation log:

There was only one problem shown in red there (see below; red color wen waway when pasting)
Stopping ADB server failed (code -1).

ok I am going to uninstall everything and try this at home, find a youtube video and try again

IT would have saved a lot of time if someone can prove to me they can load eclipse/android on their win7 machine that has proxies.  that would save a lot of fiddling which I have spent most of the day getting nothing done apart from fiddling with this open source product and getting nowhere.
I think you can download as in the last post no matter if you have proxies or not.
It just a little bit more manual.
I'm in corporate environemnt - so I'm certainly also going through proxies, though, true,  I have XP.
