vmware resource pool allocation question

I have a question about vmware resource pool creation. When we create vm guest, it creates with default value.

When do you need to bring it into resource pool?

Also, I saw the following values for resource cpu

shares                                  -4000   -
How this calculation works? What does 4000 represent?

reservation
limit
StorageVMware

Thank you very much.  We can create the resource pool in the cluster level or esx host level right?

Hi, Yes , they can be created anywhere on the cluster level and host level too ..and changed as per your requirement.
