Simple Display name for internal users

Is it possible to have the Simple Display Name display in Outlook for "internal" users?  I know that this works if the email is being sent to an external address.  This used to work for us in the past (probably a year or two ago) but now it doesn't (except for emails sent to external email addresses).   Everywhere I have read appears that this will not work anymore.  We are using Exchange 2010 SP1.

Thanks in advanced,

Marc

Thanks for the link.  Unfortunately that only works if you are sending to an external address.  What I am looking for is something that will work with an internal address.  It used to work that way, but, then it stopped working probably after a patch or service pack update.

i suggest to check the AD global catalog health used by exchange/clients.
check application/system log viewer, search for errors.
you may increase the level of logging

also how the global address list is built

ITDataCenter,

Are you saying that this feature should be working for internal emails?

Thanks
