I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

First I see two diffferent files in there..one is . trn and the other .bak

is there a difference?

what about the overwrite with replacement under options..do I need to check that?

The .bak is the full backup, the .trn is a backup of the transaction log.
You need to check overwrite the existing database.

What did you select initially, backup from database or backup from device?
