restore database failed

I am trying to restore a back up into a new database that I just created. it gave me this message. Is there anything I am missing?

try to do a restore filelistonly to see what the backup contains.
Also, can you show the syntax you are using to do the restore

First I see two diffferent files in is . trn and the other .bak

is there a difference?

what about the overwrite with replacement under I need to check that?
The .bak is the full backup, the .trn is a backup of the transaction log.
You need to check overwrite the existing database.

What did you select initially, backup from database or backup from device?
