Implementing complex forms using native UIKit controls (iOS)

Hi,

I'm struggling with the task of implementing complex forms (think tax form) using the UIKit controls. For example a date picker or picker control take up 20% of the iPad screen and I don't see how I could add it to a form with 6 columns. Can somebody let me know what my options are or how I can work with the native controls to make them smaller?

I realize I could go with a web view and display an HTML page but that's not the route I'd like to go.

Any advice appreciated!

you are correct the UIDatepicker is kinda big.

The way I implement this is that you have a date text field.  When they enter this field you pop out a popup with just a date picker on it.  they choose a date and you pass this date back into your field.

One can also create custom controls using popover dialogs.
