Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How are you using RDP and ping? IP address or computer name? Also, are there any networking components that could be blocking certain network functions?

If you are using VPN software on the system, check to see if there is a network validation tool installed like Cisco NAC or a Deterministic Network Enhancer driver installed in the network settings portion of your network device. Sometimes disabling those type functions can restore certain network activity.

Verify proper DNS resolution via nslookup.

You can also download Dameware as a trial version and it can give you specific errors when you try to connect with the Mini Remote Control:

Dameware Trial Download Page

Basically, anything that can affect the network path.

Include any specific error messages that generate from any program or method of connection.

Thanks.
