I just bought an iPad 3 and want to migrate off my iPad 1. I use the iCloud to back my pictures but I just realized that only the photo stream is backed up in the cloud.

On the iPad 1, once I open the photo's icon there are four tabs at the top. The tab called PHOTOS is where most of my pictures reside.   Is there a way to easily migrate the several hundred pictures in there?

The iPad 1 is not currently configured on any computers iTunes and I would prefer not to do a full system backup and restore.

try Dropbox in conjunction with the Dropbox app on your iPad. Backup files directly to Dropbox from your iPad 1 and then copy to the ipad3

Or mount the iPad directly as a disk on your computer.

Apple allows you open access to your DCIM folder on your iPad.  Simply plug the ipad via the sync cable into your PC (Im assuming your using a PC).  After that let your pc talk to the device and it will show up under Start>Computer.  Double click your ipad to access its DCIM foler.  After that simply copy and paste from one device to another, or to another area on your PC.
