Symantec Virtual Infrustructure Agent errors on Independent disks.

V-79-8192-38330 - The virtual machine has independent disks. The disks that are configured in an independent-persistent mode or independent-nonpersistent mode will not be backed up.

I dont want to back up the independent disks but it seems I have no choice durring the selection list creation.

Does anyone know how to ignore this error state so my backup jobs dont show as failed??

Thanks!

create a seperate job abd exclude the disks you don't want to backup, and or are failing.

I wish I could do exactly that. Using the Virtual Infrastructure Agent it will not allow me to de-select any volumes.
Sadly i don't think any backup product can backup disks that are configured in an independent-persistent mode or independent-nonpersistent mode.
we have the same issue with commvault simpana 9.

try veeam backup and replication.trial edition
I actually do not mean to back up the independent disk. I do NOT want to backup the independent disk. I want Symantec to ignore it, but it refuses. Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 sees the independent disk, cant back it up and then fails the job. I only want Symantec to ignore the independent disk and pass the job with success.

I'm thinking it can not be done...
