vb,bet how to open and get text from a word docx file

I want to know how from a vb.net project how I can open a docx file and get its text. I eventually want to write a function to search it.

Microsoft has released an Open XML SDK.
I have never actually used it, but it can't hurt to have a look at that.

Looks like you need ms/word installed in order to use that

You may need primary interop assemblies.
Check:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/15s06t57(v=vs.100).aspx
It may, probably,  depend on what .Net version you use...
