Remote Management Windows 2008 Server

As a consultant I move around to many offices through the day. Some environments are virtual using Windows 2008 Hyper-V technologies. I am familiar with setting up RSAT on Windows 7 machines that are part of the domain but is it possible to install and configure RSAT on a workgroup pc that can then be easily moved from site to site (different domains) and still be able to use the tools. It would be ideal to install on my laptop and simply connect to the network and use RSAT to  manage many servers in different domains.

if all the variables are correct, but if they are not it will not function. Once confugured for one site its likely to fail on another.

RDP to domain member is probably easier and guaranteed to work correctly.
