For an iPhone, I got File AppPro (purchased App via iTunes). Once you have that, you can obtain DiskAid from the FileApp site and install it on the Windows PC. You can drag files into DiskAid, and then the files will sync into FileApp and be available to you. You need to be connected by the USB cord.

I use this and it works. Just be sure FileApp will work on the iPod.  ... Thinkpads_User

@25112 - Any follow-up?  I just upgraded FileApp to the newest version and it works on iPhone, iPod and iPad, so it should work for you. ... Thinkpads_User
