Hello Experts,
How do I modify Welcome email templates or Alert email Templates in SharePoint Server 2010.  I understand this may be a backend edit in Notepad process, but I can't find the emai text.

Thanks

Hi Sorry for the delay.  Reading the solution this doesn't really solve my problem of changing the body text within an alert template or a welcome mail template.
For example I want to change the "server" name below to reflect the correct https:\\ url
or just maybe change the text

"Welcome to the 'Supplier Read Only Group' SharePoint group. has added you to the 'Supplier Read Only Group' group for this SharePoint site.
Welocome to sharepoint
As a member of this SharePoint group, you can:
* Participate in the SharePoint site at: http://server:16506
* View the group home page at: http://server:16506/_layouts/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=9"

All my users are using an external URL over HTTPS

Thanks

Oh, that is another subject.  You can modify Alert URL's using the Admin Toolkit.
